Kaileen Powers is driven by a desire to create. From product development to metal smithing, to painting, to graphic design - the core desire is always to create beautiful things that echo memories, sights, feelings, and ideas that flow through her world. Whatever the medium, her work is always deeply rooted in concept and inspired by bold, highly saturated color.
Kaileen has worked to create murals for institutions like the Museum of Science Boston, has created her own refurbished furniture company known as Smug Pug Reclaims and has designed apparel and accessories products for major retail companies like Coldwater Creek. Her experience as a fashion designer has spanned several categories to include denim, pants, skirts, jackets, outerwear and accessories. In addition, she has been a product developer and has sourced product for retailers like J Jill and the Bradford Exchange. She was classically trained in fine arts at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA where she received her BFA double major in painting and art history. Kaileen continues to take classes in everything from digital design to metal smithing to learn new skills and mediums from which she can work and express her ideas.
